Botox & Skin Botox (Dermotoxin) Aftercare
What to know after your treatment
About this guide
FlyToGlow provides the following content solely as an English translation of aftercare guidance supplied by a clinic. FlyToGlow does not independently create, prescribe, or replace medical aftercare instructions. Always follow the instructions provided directly by the clinic that treated you. If there is any difference between this translation and the instructions from your treating clinic, the treating clinic's instructions take precedence.
1. Botox
- Avoid makeup and cleansing on the treated area for 2–3 hours after treatment. This helps reduce the risk of infection and also avoids applying pressure to the treated area while applying makeup.
- For 3 hours after treatment, do not lie down and do not keep the treated area facing downward, as the Botox medication may spread to areas other than the treatment site.
- For 3–4 days after treatment, it is best to avoid alcohol, smoking, saunas, and yoga.
- Depending on the treatment area, mild bruising, pain, or swelling may occur, but these usually disappear within 1–2 weeks.
- The effect of wrinkle-improvement Botox generally appears after 1–2 weeks, while the effect of muscle-reduction Botox generally appears after 2–3 weeks.
- After trapezius Botox, avoid exercise that puts strain on the shoulders. After calf Botox, avoid high heels.
2. Skin Botox (Dermotoxin)
- On the day of treatment, the skin may look red and bumpy or embossed. This improves over time.
- Light cleansing and makeup are possible from the day after treatment.
- Pay close attention to sun protection and moisturizing care.
- The effect of the treatment can usually be felt from about 1–2 weeks after treatment.
- For maximum effect, treatment is recommended at intervals of 3–4 months.
